Transport Expert
Svetlana Gligorovska is an experienced international expert in transport policy from North Macedonia, specialized in infrastructure development, and EU integration, with over three decades of professional experience across Europe, the Western Balkans, Eastern Neighborhood, and Central Asia.
She is bringing over 15 years of extensive experience in aviation transportation planning and development, with a strong focus on integrated multi-modal transportation systems.
She is skilled in coordinating and optimizing various modes of transport to enhance connectivity and efficiency within complex transportation networks and has a proven ability to analyse, design, and implement transportation solutions that support seamless integration across aviation and other transport modes, ensuring sustainable and efficient mobility outcomes.
She holds a Master’s in Economy – European Studies (Transport Economics) and a Bachelor’s in Engineering and Architecture, complemented by advanced trainings from the École Nationale d’Administration in Paris, the University of Birmingham, and the European Commission.
Svetlana has worked in senior advisory and leadership roles within national administrations, the European Commission, Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), TRACECA and other international organizations.
Her expertise spans experience in formulating and implementing aviation transport policies and sustainability plans, project development, road safety management, strategic planning, and the coordination of large-scale, EU-funded transport, energy and environment projects.
She has been a national representative to the NATO Aviation Committee, Member of the Provisional Council of EUROCONTROL, National representative to the Aviation Transport Functional Airspace Blocks: Blue Med and Danube FABs, national representative to the European Commission’s High Level Group defining the Trans European Transport Network, a co-founder of the South-East Europe Transport Observatory, and a key contributor to regional cooperation initiatives.
She is currently Project Development Key Expert for “Türkiye’s Net Zero Emission Target: Road Map for Transport”. Her tasks involve preparation of the Net Zero Roadmap including Strategy, Action Plan and Pathways for each transport mode, building a Net Zero Project Pipeline and financing framework, advancing digital mobility and intelligent transport systems, preparing project portfolios, and designing financing solutions that access national and international funds to support the sector’s green transition.
