Giovannella is an Italian senior lawyer with over 30 years’ experience in EU and international regulatory and transactional work. She has advised more than 40 governments, EU institutions, and regional bodies on legislative reform, policy alignment, and complex project implementation.
Her practice spans infrastructure and industrial projects across energy (renewables, hydrogen, nuclear, electricity, gas, oil, flexible markets), transport, waste and circular economy, R&D, sustainable finance, and competition. A pioneer in Kyoto Protocol mechanisms and climate finance instruments, she has worked extensively with Green, Social & Sustainable Bonds, impact investments, and PPP models advancing the UN SDGs.
She has held senior roles at leading international law firms, including European Counsel in the corporate and energy department of LeBoeuf Lamb Greene & MacRae in London, founded B-Legal Studio Legale Internazionale in Rome, and served as European Counsel at LXL LLP. Most recently, she was Of Counsel at Grimaldi Alliance in Brussels, advising on EU regulations in emerging sectors.
