Charlotte Salford

Expert in Project Development and Financing

Charlotte is a Swedish expert in responsible economic and social development, with over 25 years of experience in emerging markets.

She holds a BA in International Relations, EC Law, and Economics from Université Libre de Bruxelles and an MSc in Political Economy from LSE.

She has held senior roles at the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the European Commission, EBRD, the United Nations, and Sarasin & Partners. Most recently, she was Associate Vice President for External Relations and Governance at IFAD.

Before founding GROWTHCAP in 2011, she directed the TurnAround Management/Business Advisory Services Programme at EBRD, overseeing over 12,000 projects and mobilising €250 million in funding. She also founded the EBRD Women in Business Programme, which attracted €1.4 billion in investment.

She now focuses on women-in-business and environmental initiatives across Africa and works on community and ESG projects through GROWTHCAP. She serves on various boards, including Give a Future and Neuroinvent, and has previously served on the boards of Swedfund, Kinnevik Reach for Change, and the Hugo Stenbeck Foundation.
